COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Trader Joe’s officially opens its door for the first time in Columbia Friday morning.

The store prides itself on its unique shopping experience with employees wearing Hawaiian shirts and having all products made within the company.

Their products contain no artificial flavors or preservatives.

The grocery store chain, located at 4516 Forest Drive, is known for carrying a variety of domestic and imported foods.

Store Captain Anothny Benson said, "We're just all excited. The response we've gotten thus far has been amazing. We get people knocking on the windows peaking through all the time. Everyone I've talked to is just excited and so are we."

We talked to the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce about the economic impact this store will have here.

Because of its location the chamber believes more companies will want to set up shop in the area.
