CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Wounded veterans are slated to ride their bikes through the Charleston area as part of the annual Warrior Ride.

A segment of the Warrior Ride begins Thursday in Mount Pleasant. Then the vets ride to the Citadel and the VA Hospital. Later they will get a guided tour of Patriots Point and end the day at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post on the Isle of Palms.

The Warrior Ride is a nonprofit organization founded in Oak Island, N.C. It sponsors adaptive riding, kayaking, golf and other events for wounded veterans.

The South Carolina segment of the Warrior Ride continues through Saturday. Last year, the Warrior Ride included seven tours in four states with 124 riders riding 570 miles.
