COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Nolan Belcher threw a three-hit, complete game and Connor Bright had two RBIs in a five-run sixth inning as South Carolina won the season series with rival Clemson for a fourth straight year with a 8-0 victory Sunday.
The Gamecocks (8-2) came into the weekend having won 18 of the previous 25 games and kept up that domination under first-year coach Chad Holbrook. Belcher was on top of his game from the start. He permitted just three singles and retired 11 straight batters during one stretch.
South Carolina got its second shutout of the series, following a 6-0 victory at Clemson on Friday night. The Tigers (6-4) rebounded with a 6-3 win Saturday.
Chase Vergason opened South Carolina's scoring with a solo homer in the fourth.
