RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- The Richland County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help regarding an overnight shooting that has one man fighting for his life.

Deputy Curtis Wilson said they responded to a shots fired call around 2:20 a.m. Sunday near I-77 and Forest Drive. Wilson said they were able to find the vehicle at the 1600 block of Decker Boulevard.

Once they arrived to the vehicle, Wilson said two victims inside were fired at. The driver, a male, was hit multiple times and taken to Palmetto Health in critical condition.

The female passenger was not hurt. The woman says she was asleep when the shots were fired; and could not give a description on the suspect or the suspect's vehicle.

The case is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
