Columbia, SC (WACH) -- The gorgeous weather we have enjoyed in the Midlands has come to a end.

A area of low pressure currently in the Gulf of Mexico will head toward South Carolina on Thursday bringing heavy rain to the state.

Rain chances move into the Midlands late in the afternoon on Thursday, and last into Friday morning.

Stay tuned to the SkyWACH Weather Team as we head into a soggy pattern.
