LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WACH) - A husband and wife are in jail after Lexington County deputies seized a mobile methamphetamine laboratory early Tuesday morning.
Sheriff James R. Metts says Christopher James Doar, 27, and Emmalee Jade Doar, 25, were arrested Tuesday on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.
According to Metts, deputies seized a clandestine mobile methamphetamine laboratory being operated in a gray 2011 Nissan Versa sedan that was parked in the driveway of a home on Sugar Loaf Road near Gaston after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle around 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies found Christopher Doar sitting in the driver’s seat of the sedan and found Emmalee Doar sitting in the front passenger’s seat of the sedan, Metts said. Deputies smelled a strong chemical odor and saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle that is associated with mobile meth labs.
Metts says deputies secured the car, placed Christopher Doar and Emmalee Doar in investigative detention and requested assistance from NET officers in further investigating the meth lab found in the sedan
Authorities say the Doars do not live at the Sugar Loaf Road home.
Christopher and Emmalee Doar were being held Tuesday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
