GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A 25-year-old year Greenville mother has been charged with beating someone else's child during a sleepover party at her home.

Police say Krystal K. Covington was charged Wednesday with cruelty to children.

Authorities say Covington repeatedly struck a 4-year-old with a belt and then threw the girl against a wall.

The child's name has not been released. Authorities say she was treated at a hospital and is now home with her mother.

It wasn't known if Covington had a lawyer.
