LAURENS, S.C. (AP) -- Three Laurens County high school students have been arrested after officials say they took school buses out for a joyride.

Laurens District High School Principal Sonya Bryant says the students were on campus Saturday and drove the buses off campus.

Bryant says the students had been at school earlier in the day and were involved in some student organizations. She says one of the students had participated in a Gray Court parade, while another was waiting to participate in a Laurens parade.

The students returned the buses but were caught on surveillance video.

The students have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle. All of them are minors, and their names have not been released.
