COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A car crash the night before Thanksgiving left one dead, but no one knows who the victim is.

The Richland County Coroner is asking for help in identifying the victim. The wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Windsor Lake Blvd  near Oakcrest.

The victim's vehicle struck another car and then flipped. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. The victim died in the hospital early Thanksgiving morning.

Paperwork in the victim's vehicle identifies an individual as Javier Perez from Guatemala with an address on Hunt Club Road, but multiple trips to the location on Hunt Club Road have not provided positive identification of the individual.

Anyone with information about the identity of the victim or information about Perez is asked to call the Richland County Coroner's Office at 803-576-1799.
