Columbia, SC (WACH) --- It`s hard to imagine someone saying that the upper 80s and lower 90s will feel good as high temperatures, but that is the point many people in the Midlands have reached. Six out of the nine days this month have seen highs reach triple digits!

The reason we`ll finally get some relief in the Midlands has to do with a cold front.  However, this front is not going to move through the Midlands.  Instead it will stall out over the area which will bring an increase in cloud cover and chances for scattered thunderstorms.  More clouds means less sunshine, which means less opportunity for the sun to aid the temperatures in heating up.

The downside to all of this will be humidity.  With a increased threat for rain brings an increase in moisture in the area which means our dewpoint numbers will be higher.  The higher the dewpoint, the more muggy it feels outside.
