ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) -- Accountability was the name of the game as Orangeburg County deputies hit the streets for a two-day warrant roundup.
Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced 23 arrests were made on burglary, assault, drugs, and weapons warrants after officers conducted the warrant roundup this week.
“More than 40 law enforcement officers from the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force set out to serve more than 60 warrants on serious offenses over a two day period," explains Sheriff Ravenell. "In total, 36 warrants were served, and 23 arrests were made. One arrest resulted in solving an additional burglary from June 2010."
Ravenell added that these operations are vital to locating and arresting people who have committed crimes in Orangeburg County and are fleeing prosecution.
"Officers have spent countless hours responding to these crimes, investigating suspects, and victims want to know that someone is being held accountable," says Ravenell.
