COLUMBIA (WACH/AP)—Presentations made by party leaders in the South Carolina House are planned for Thursday, during the annual legislative workshop, which is co-sponsored by The Associated Press, the South Carolina Press Association and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.

Speaker Bobby Harrell, Majority Leader Bruce Bannister, Minority Leader Harry Ott and Legislative Black Caucus Chairman Harold Mitchell are scheduled to speak about their plans for the session, which starts next week.

Both parties are expected to have plans for reforming ethics and election laws, better cyber security, and government restructuring.

The workshop takes place at the Solomon Blatt Building on the Statehouse grounds in Columbia from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday.

The first regular session of the 120 South Carolina General Assembly is Tuesday, January 8.
