COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The University of South Carolina is celebrating national "Engineers Week" with activities including daily speakers, workshops and displays of electric cars, robots and sustainable energy projects.

The College of Engineering and Computing is hosting a series of guest speakers and daily lunch-and-learn sessions Monday through Friday. Topics include entrepreneurship, startup firms and engineering careers.

The energy documentary "Switch" is being shown on Tuesday and Saturday. On Thursday, a panel of female graduates discusses the outlook for women in the engineering and computer fields.

On Saturday, students and parents may view science projects that deal with helicopter landings, electric cars, and robots.

All events are free and open to the public. The lunches require registration.
