COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The editor of an anthology on African-American feminism is speaking at a conference at Clemson University.

Beverly Guy-Sheftall is slated to speak at the Women's Leadership Conference on Saturday.

Guy-Sheftall is the founding director of the Women's Research and Resource Center and the Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women's Studies at Spelman College, and is an adjunct professor at Emory University. She edited "Words of Fire: An Anthology of African American Feminist Thought" and also worked on "Traps: African American Men on Gender and Sexuality."

The theme for this year's conference is "Search for Courage, Strive for Knowledge, Share your Heart." The daylong program includes several breakout sessions and a networking event.
