COLUMBIA SC (WACH)—A boil water advisory has been repealed for City of Columbia residents in the Briarcliffe subdivision near Blaircliffe East, Viewmont Road and Ringwood Lane.

City officials say the distribution system has been flushed and bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works. The results of the sampling indicate that the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes. Residents in this area no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

The advisory was issued Monday due to a 6 inch water main break at 109 Blaircliffe East.

The City of Columbia Water Works, 733-8336 or 781-2181, may answer other inquiries concerning this Advisory.
