COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The City of Columbia is celebrating the holiday season with a downtown, outdoor ice skating rink.

Mayor Steve Benjamin says "Main Street Ice" opens on Thanksgiving Day. The square rink is on Columbia's Main St., right outside the Columbia Museum of Art.

Skating is free all day Thursday. On other days, admission is $8 for children ages 12 and younger and $10 for adults. Those fees include skate rentals.
