COLUMBIA (WACH)—A trip to the State Museum on Saturday could end with you walking away with a little piece of history, as it holds another garage sale.

The sale will include a prop pirate cannon, street banners from past exhibits, a “Chewbacca” costume, alien head, electronics and more.  The sales serve two purposes, according to State Museum Registrar Michelle Baker, who is putting the event together.  “They allow the public to own a little piece of the museum,” she said in a press release, “plus they help us clear out space to make room for articles to support future exhibits.”

Baker points out that all the items support the exhibits, and are not artifacts themselves.

The museum garage sale is open to members at 8 a.m. and the general public at 9 a.m.  This is not the first sale, but this time, according to Baker, there is an “after sale sale” with black bag specials.

You can get more information on the sale by calling 803-989-4921 or checking out the South Carolina State Museum’s website.
