COLUMBIA (WACH) - For those who think the fair only comes in in the fall, think again. The Sparkleberry Country Fair will bring the fun of the fair to Columbia for the 17th year this weekend.

The fair will be held Friday and Saturday in Northeast Columbia at the Clemson University Sandhill Research and Education Center on the corner of Clemson and Two Notch Roads.

Amusement rides will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

The full fair, complete with classic cars, entertainment, barn animals, exhibits and more,  will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The fair will charge $5 per car with proceeds going to Richland School District II in the form of scholarships and grants.

According to the fair's website, Sparkleberry Country Fair began to help the Midlands community create a sense of community and pride. Each year the event draws over 20,000 people.

The event gives families a chance to learn and have fun together.
