WESTMINSTER, S.C. (AP) -- One student was sent to the hospital with injuries after a school bus overturned in Oconee County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday just north of Westminster.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says 43-year-old Summer Lee Sanford was driving north when the bus got too close to the shoulder of the road and overturned.

Rhyne says 15 students were on the bus at the time. One student had to be transported to a hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The students and the driver climbed out of a back window. Relatives came to pick up some of the students, and others were sent home on another bus.

No charges have been filed.
