COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Spring may have officially started at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday, but Mother Nature did not get the memo.

Arctic air returning to the Midlands has prompted the National Weather Service in Columbia to issue a Freeze Warning for all of the WACH Fox viewing area.

Lows tonight will fall into the lower 30s and upper 20s.

Many people have done some spring gardening, and the threat we are facing tonight is the cold temps killing crops, and plants sensitive to cold air.

Unfortunately, unseasonably cold conditions will hang around into next week.
