LEXINGTON, SC (WACH / AP) - Lexington County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 19-year-old Lexington man in connection with a shooting that left another man dead.

According to an incident report issued by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, William Rush Falls, 56, of Emma Drive, Lexington, was found on the ground inside his home Wednesday morning about 7:11 a.m. The report says a person not identified in the report, flagged down a Lexington County deputy on Emma Drive about a possible disturbance at a home on Emma Drive. The reporting officer said they inspected the house and found Falls' body on the ground.

Sheriff James R. Metts says Jeffrey O'Neal Kight, Jr., a neighbor of Falls, was arrested Wednesday on charges of murder and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Kight is accused of firing one shotgun round through a glass window from outside Falls' home.

Metts says the shotgun round penetrated the window and struck Falls in his neck and face. A surveillance camera system that Falls had installed outside his home showed that Kight was standing in the backyard of Falls’ home at about 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

The coroner's office says Falls was shot once in the neck and bled to death.

Deputies say they haven't figured out why Kight shot Falls.

Kight is awaiting a bond hearing. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
