LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) - Three people were arrested Tuesday evening after Lexington County deputies seized a meth lab being operated out of a home near West Columbia.

Sheriff James R. Metts says Jerald David Chase, 40, Betty Alice Nix, 32, and Jimmy Leon Marsh, 27, were arrested on drug charges.

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) went to a home on Norman Drive around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving information that a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was actively being operated at the home.

Metts says officers smelled a chemical odor coming from the home indicative of a meth lab. Upon entering the home, NET officers found one glass jar in a bedroom that contained a white residue and liquid that had a cloudy appearance. A reaction vessel used to make meth was found on the floor in the home.

Chase, Mix, and Marsh were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.
