COLUMBIA (AP) -- The director of South Carolina's environmental agency is scheduled to speak at a meeting focusing on water quality.

Department of Health and Environmental Control director Catherine Templeton is slated to speak Thursday at the quarterly meeting of the S.C. Water Quality Association in Columbia.

On its website, the association says it is a statewide group of owners and operators of publicly owned treatment facilities that aims to ensure that the state's water quality programs are based on sound science and regulatory policy.
