Here is your GDC Morning WACH for Monday February 25, 2013:
It was certainly a Monday here on Good Day…here are links and information on things you saw on the show.
5 days left to lace up your shoes
Once again this year, the Palmetto Health Foundation is asking you to “Lace Up and Face It,” with their annual walk to spread awareness about colon cancer. This year, a run is added to the walk, and the location is moved to the Maxcy Grace Park near Five Points.
If you would like more info and register, get all the details HERE.
Another near perfect exercise – the lunge
Fitness trainer Christy Seguin joined us to demonstrate and explain the proper technique for the lunge, and why it is a full body exercise.
Some of the key benefits include
- equal development of both legs
- use of glutes, quads, adductors, and hamstrings.
- several different variations to adapt to skill level
American Heart Month continues
February is American Heart Month, dedicated to raising awareness of the leading cause of death in the United States. Heart Disease is known as the “silent killer,” and can leave victims and families not only devastated from the disease, but leave a bank account near empty after all the medical bills take their toll.
Scott Gorman joined us this morning to talk about some of ways you can protect your wallet from heart disease and other chronic illnesses. You can check out more info HERE.
Black History Month concludes on Thursday
After a month of celebration surrounding black history, Fraendy Clervaud completed his month long series highlighting some pioneers from the African American community.
