COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Richland County boys had an opportunity to take classes on how they can defend themselves.

Sheriff Leon Lott says his deputies offered a free self-defense training class on Saturday for boys ages 8 to 14.

The course is co-sponsored by Diana Arvay, who has worked with Lott's department for years on a self-defense course for women.

Lott says another class scheduled for April 6 is already full.
