Here is your GDC Morning WACH for Friday, February 22, 2013:

It was a busy day on Good Day Columbia, with guests, entertainment, and of course, a peek at the Oscars.

Get your mask on for the arts

In honor of the Jewish holiday of Purim, the Masquerade on Main is planned for Friday at Tapps Art Center.  The event includes entertainment, a cash bar, and finger foods all to support arts and entertainment in Columbia.  HERE is more info on the event.

The Oscars are here!

The Oscars are Sunday night, as our resident awards show experts, Janet and Alexis gave us a preview of the big show.  If you haven't had a chance to check out some of this year's best pictures, check it out Alexis' Movie Reviews!

Theatre anyone?

The Stage 5 Theatre is presenting “7 Keys to Baldpate” at the theatre on South Stadium, with performances Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  HERE is ticket info.

From Mad TV to Good Day – Aries Spears

Comedian Aries Spears joined us this morning for some laughs and, of course, the cheese quiz.  He is performing at the Comedy House all weekend.  You can get ticket info HERE.

Steve Harvey – more than a talk show host

The need for positive role models is nothing new, but across America, the need seems to be increases, many times in the inner city.  The Chapter of Concerned Black Men has partnered with Steve Harvey to help recruit the much needed positive role models.

Jaquia Bridges joined us to talk about the local initiive.  You can get more info HERE.

Be good to your knees

Over half of the 24 million people who suffer from osteoarthritis feel it in their knees.  They say when it comes to your knees, that “motion is lotion,” meaning that the more you move it, the healthier it will be.  Knee health can also be impacted by weight, diet, and exercise.

Should you find yourself one of the millions who can feel the rain coming in their knees, there are several treatments available, including non surgical methods.  Tommy Gibbons and Barry Fitch joined us to talk about alternative treatments.  You can learn more HERE.

Thank you for being a part of Good Day Columbia.  You can always send story ideas, comments and input to the crew, HERE.
