ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- The Anderson County coroner says a woman has died weeks after sheriff's deputies say she was set on fire.

Coroner Greg Shore says 61-year-old Debra Davis of Piedmont died Tuesday.

Sheriff's deputies say they think that one of the woman's sons doused her in gasoline and burned her on Jan. 1. David was burned on 30 percent of her body. Shore says the woman was being treated at the Joseph M. Stills Burn Center in Augusta, Ga., when she suffered organ failure Tuesday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Stanley Shawn Davis was charged with attempted murder after the fire. Sheriff's spokesman Chad McBride said investigators are considering filing more serious charges.

Investigators say Stanley Davis was shot and wounded by his brother after the fire. The brother was not charged.
