COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- It's time for new telephone books, and finding a way to get rid of old ones.

Keep the Midlands Beautiful is working with the City of Columbia and officials in Lexington and Richland counties to recycle old telephone books. There are places available year round where old phone books can be dropped off in the same recycling bins for newspapers.

People who live in Columbia, Forest Acres and Lexington County can also recycle their phone books in their Recycle containers curbside. Richland County will accept them in curbside recycling bins.
