MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina couple has been arrested and charged in the death of their toddler when they lived in North Carolina last year.

Mooresville police arrested 22-year-old Nicholas Burnette Clark and 21-year-old Sheila Amanda Hendley on charges of murder and felony child abuse.

The couple was arrested Wednesday in Georgetown County, S.C., where they now live.

Police were called to the couple's home in Mooresville last March and discovered a 2-year-0ld had died.

The State Law Enforcement Division and Georgetown County sheriff's deputies assisted in the arrest. The couple was being held in Georgetown awaiting extradition to North Carolina. It was not clear if they have attorneys.
