CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson University is hosting a discussion on life sciences.

The school's College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences is hosting a colloquium entitled "Celebrating the Life Sciences" on Friday at McKissick Theatre.

Featured guest speakers include Carolyn Schanen, adjunct associate professor at the University of Delaware and director of the Human Genetics Research Lab at the Center for Applied Clinical Genomics at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del.

Dennis Kyle, Distinguished University Health Professor at the University of South Florida, is also expected to speak.

The gathering is part of a dedication of Clemson's new Life Sciences Facility. There are also self-guided tours of the building and a student poster session.
