IRMO, SC (WACH) - An suspect in a police pursuit is on the run in Northeast Richland County.

According to Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck, an officer stopped a car along Lake Murray Blvd. about 9:30 Tuesday morning. The driver of the car, identified as Quintin Lafayette Garrett, fled the scene.

Garrett is accused of leading police on a chase from Lake Murray Blvd. down Broad River Road to I-26 to I-20 then to SC-277 to the Parklane Road exit on North 277. The suspect jumped out of the car and ran across 277 to Parklane Road.

Police say warrants have been issued for Garrett, who is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 200 pounds.

Garrett is accused in warrants of Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and Seatbelt Violation.

No one was injured during the pursuit and no vehicles were damaged.
