PICKENS, S.C. (AP) -- Two people have been killed in a crash in Pickens County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a sport utility vehicle ran off the side of a road and flipped over at around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says both people in the SUV were ejected and died at the scene about 5 miles west of Travelers Rest.

Their names have not been released, and troopers say neither person was wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities are still investigating.
