COLUMBIA (WACH) - A house fire has displaced two adults and two children, according to Columbia Fire Department officials.

A spokesman for the department says fire units responded to a residential fire around 11 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Bluff Road and Windy Drive.

Authorities say the cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking and damages are estimated at $80,000.

A dog in the home suffered smoke inhalation. An O2 Fur Life Pet Oxygen kit was used to revive the animal. A cat was located later inside the home, but could not be revived.

The displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
