Columbia,SC (WACH)--Several Columbia residents got a first hand look at African-American history in Columbia; and it's importance to the city's development on Sunday.

The Historic Columbia Foundation hosted an African-American Heritage sites bus tour. The tour covered more than 25 sites around the area. Some included Zion Baptist Church, Benedict College, Township Auditorium, and Robert Mills House and Park.

Historic Columbia Foundation Tour Guide Dick Summers said their contributions mean a lot to the city.
