MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- The federal health care law, terrorist threats to America and the nation's financial situation are among the topics up for discussion at the South Carolina tea party convention.

The convention begins Saturday and continues through Sunday in Myrtle Beach.

South Carolina party coalition coordinator Joe Dugan says the event is focusing on what organizers feel are some of the greatest threats facing the nation today.

Speakers include U.S. Rep. Tom Rice, who represents the Myrtle Beach area. Other speakers slated to address the convention are South Carolina Reps. Mick Mulvaney and Jeff Duncan, and state Attorney General Alan Wilson.
