Here is your GDC Morning WACH for Thursday February 10, 2013:
Heroes send off
Troops from the 3/49 Agribusiness Development Team departed the McCrady Training Center this morning, among the troops, Lt. Michael Haley, husband of Governor Nikki Haley. While deployed, the SC ADT 3/49 will teach local Afghan farmers agricultural techniques and how to grow sustainable crops to improve their lives and provide for their families. The ultimate goal of the unit is to increase education, reduce poverty and expand job opportunities in Afghan communities

Beethoven and Blue Jeans
Conductor Morihiko Makahara from the South Carolina Philharmonic joined us to talk about the annual “Beethoven and Blue Jeans” concert. He also tried to show Tyler how to conduct. HERE is the lesson.
Ups and downs of South Carolina teen pregnancy
South Carolina teen pregnancies are on the decline, which is good news. According to the DHEC, the teen birth rate has decreased 8 percent from 2010-2011. On the face, it is good news, however, advocates say there is a lot of work to do.
The CEO of the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, Forrest Alton joined us this morning.
