CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- A Grand Strand lumber company is adding more than 50 jobs because of increased demand as the housing industry rebounds from the Great Recession.

Doug Warstler of Canfor Southern Pine in Myrtle Beach says the 56 new jobs are being added to the company's plant in Conway.

The designation of the company's site as a multi-county business park for Horry and Georgetown means the company will be eligible for a $1,000 tax credit for each new job.

The Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp. will give the company an additional $135,000 when all 56 jobs are created.
