MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Horry County has passed an ordinance limiting the sale of green lasers.

The move follows complaints last year that the lasers had been used to blind the pilots of aircraft and were aimed at other vehicles.

The ordinance approved Tuesday prohibits selling lasers to anyone under the age of 18. Those that are sold cannot exceed 1 milliwatt in power.

The matter is also before the Myrtle Beach City Council. But council delayed talks on limiting the sales of lasers until it saw what the county council took.
