MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) -- Berkeley County sheriff's deputies are investigating after the Department of Social Services says a child has been bitten in the home of a family that lost an infant to a dog mauling last year.

DSS told the sheriff's department that a child had suffered a significant injury in a dog attack at the Ladson home of Quintin and Chantel McGrew. The child suffered a puncture wound to the cheek and beside his nose.

Last April, the couple lost an infant son when he was attacked by a family dog. Quentin McGrew is awaiting trial on a charge of illegal conduct toward a child.

Chantel McGrew told The Post and Courier of Charleston she did not want to talk about the matter but did say her child lived after this attack.
