COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Residents of Richland and Lexington counties have a chance to check out animals and attractions at the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens without paying.

Again this year, the zoo is opening up its gates for free to local residents on Fridays during January and February.

All that's needed for admission is either a driver's license or a property tax statement as proof of residency.
