FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) -- A Florence church has a new modern baby Jesus for its manger scene a year after someone stole the last one from his manger scene.

First Baptist Church has displayed the nativity scene undisturbed for more than 60 years before the baby was discovered missing last Christmas.

The Morning News of Florence reports that a flurry of publicity led a man to call and say his daughter was the baby-napper. He anonymously turned in two babies, but neither were the one from the manger scene.

Pastor Daniel Inabinet says there was no way to replace the baby Jesus to the old-time manger scene. The new baby is much more modern looking. But Inabinet says that matches the Christmas story well because Jesus wasn't one to fit in with the crowd.
