Lee County, SC (WACH)-  A suspect accused of firing at four officers during a traffic stop last night in Kershaw County has been captured.

According to Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, Earnest Maurice Allen was found in a shed behind a home in Lee County in the Red Hill community. He had about $800 in cash with him.  Allen was apprehended about 3:15 Friday afternoon.

Matthews said Allen was a passenger of a vehicle that was pulled over by deputies during a traffic stop. Allen produced what deputies believe to be a .38 caliber pistol and fired four rounds at deputies. According to Matthews, one deputy fired back and Allen ran into the woods near the scene of the stop.
