SUMTER, SC (WACH) - More than two months after a deadly shooting in Sumter, police have arrested three men.
Officials with the Sumter Police Department say Kevin Donnell Jones, 34, was found dead at a residence on Brunhill Drive in Sumter from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest around 3:30 a.m. on October 6.
An investigation lead detectives to arrest 24-year-old Gregory Jones, of no relation to the victim, 28-year-old Jimmy Jenkins and 21-year-old Mario Lloyd, according to authorities. The three men are charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Evidence linked all three suspects to the shooting.
Police believe robbery was the motive for the shooting and illegal drugs also contributed to the incident.
