HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say arson is suspected in a fire that destroyed dozens of golf carts on Hilton Head Island.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports (http://bit.ly/Th9Pnc ) the fire early Monday destroyed the golf cart barn at the Hilton Head Plantation Golf Club. There were 52 golf carts in the barn and all were destroyed, as was the building.
Beaufort County sheriff's deputies say it appears that a utility cart was used to break through a gate by whoever started the fire. It's not known yet how the fire was set.
There's no immediate damage estimate.
