ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WACH) - The Orangeburg Sheriff's Office is seeking the community's assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a recent armed kidnapping in Cordova.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell released a sketch of a suspect in the kidnapping Tuesday.

According to Ravenell, a 15-year-old victim was walking to school between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 5 on Legrand Smoak Street when a white male in a blue truck approached the teen and asked for money. The man pointed a gun at the student and demanded the student get into the vehicle. The suspect asked again for money. When the teen said they did not have any, the suspect drove around the area and dropped the victim off in a neighborhood.

Authorities describe the suspect as a bald, heavy set white male with a spider web tattoo on his right forearm. The suspect was driving a later model sky blue Chevy pick-up truck with white trim. The truck has a deer processing sticker on the dash board.

Anyone with information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
