COLUMBIA (WACH)--State law enforcement officials celebrated 30 years of stopping crime Friday at the South Carolina Bank and Trust Headquarters.

During the 30 year anniversary celebration family members of crime victims, law enforcement and community leaders came together to honor what the program has done.

Since created in 1982, Crimestoppers has received 90,344 tips and cleared 24,725 cases.

Jacqueline Mitchell, the daughter-in-law of a recent crime victim, attended the celebration to say thank you.

"This hasn't been that long ago and we're still really suffering but we just wanted to say thank you so much for the diligence and all the hard work and the man power and especially for Crimestoppers," said Mitchell, "Crimestoppers I think is what ultimately lead to apprehension and the arrests of the two people that killed my father -in-law."

Anyone with a tip on a crime can call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.  All calls are anonymously, and cash rewards are offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
