COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- South Carolina star Marcus Lattimore was taken off the field on a cart after taking a hit around the knee against Tennessee on Saturday.

Lattimore was running through the left side when he was upended. He did not get up and trainers immediately rushed to his side and appeared to be working on his right knee. Lattimore missed the final six games of 2011 with a right knee injury that required surgery.

Lattimore appeared to be sobbing in pain and left on a cart with a towel over his head.

After several minutes, Tennessee's players came out to wish Lattimore well. South Carolina's entire team followed as the crowd chanted Lattimore's name.

Lattimore earlier scored on a 28-yard run. The junior came in with 597 yards rushing this season.
