GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) -- Greenwood County sheriff's deputies have charged a woman with ill treatment of eight horses.

Deputies got an anonymous tip earlier this month and went to a pasture where they found six horses. Deputies say there were a couple of bales of hay on the ground but there was no grass in the pasture. Sgt. Mickey Boland says there was no water on the property and the water bucket was empty. Boland also says there was no shelter. . Deputies went to Shannon Gibson's home and found two more horses in bad health. There was one bale of hay and two containers of dirty water at the home.

Boland says the horses have been moved to several locations to receive care.

It was not clear if Gibson has an attorney.
