LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) -- Officials in Lexington County are teaming up to gather donations for a local food bank.

Sheriff's deputies are partnering this week with Lexington County School District 1 to collect items to be donated to Harvest Hope Food Bank. The drive started on Monday and runs through Friday.

Donations are being accepted at Lexington High School and Lexington Technology Center. Harvest Hope will distribute the canned and other non-perishable items to people who need help in Lexington County and surrounding areas.
