FOREST ACRES, SC (WACH) - Police say a donation jar used to raise funds for burn victims was stolen from a local convenience store last week.

Forest Acres police officers are hoping the community can identify the woman accused of taking the donation jar from a Pitt Stop on Forest Drive.

Authorities say a woman between 35 and 45 years of age is accused of walking to the register of the store, putting a drink on the counter and grabbing a jar that contained approximately $10 of donations for the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation. The woman then got into a pick up truck and drove away.

The incident report also says the suspect removed several items from the drink cooler in the store and concealed them in a handbag.

According to police, another individual was with the woman, but it does not appear she had any knowledge of the theft.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect should contact the Forest Acres Police Department at 803-782-9444 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
